There is nothing to beat real rice root as a deep cleaning mud brush, but this look alike comes a good second at a lower cost. The tufts are made with nylon which absorbs water, and unlike (much cheaper) polypropylene that means it carries soap and water from the bucket to the horse. Nylon has the added advantages of being very durable, and won't deteriorate if left damp.
